How to prepare for behavioral interviews at Amazon (LP deep dive)

I interviewed at Amazon twice. First time I barely prepared for the behavioral rounds and got rejected. Second time I dedicated 40% of my prep time to LPs and got the offer.
Here's my approach:
Step 1: Write down 20 stories from your career. Each story should be a specific situation, not a generic one.
Step 2: Map each story to 2-3 Leadership Principles. Most stories can cover multiple LPs. For example, a story about pushing back on a bad technical decision covers "Have Backbone" and "Are Right, A Lot."
Step 3: Practice telling each story using the STAR format in under 3 minutes. Record yourself and listen back.
Step 4: Prepare 2-3 "super stories" that are your strongest ones. These are for the LPs you're most likely to be asked about (Customer Obsession, Ownership, Dive Deep).
Step 5: Practice answering follow-up questions. Interviewers will dig deeper with "what did YOU specifically do?" and "what would you do differently?"
The biggest mistake people make is using "we" instead of "I". Amazon wants to know YOUR contribution, not the team's.
Another common mistake: not having stories about failure. "Tell me about a time you failed" is extremely common and you need a genuine answer, not a humble-brag.
