Crafting a Resume for Tech Interviews: What Worked for Me

I recently transitioned from finance to software engineering, and working on my resume was a real challenge. I had to showcase relevant skills without much formal experience in tech. I ended up focusing heavily on my personal projects and any coding bootcamps I completed. Highlighting specific programming languages like Python and JavaScript made a difference. I also included links to my GitHub profile, which had my projects laid out.
One thing I learned is that quantifying achievements matters a lot. Instead of saying I 'developed an application', I wrote that I 'built a task management tool that reduced team onboarding time by 30%'. That kind of detail resonated with recruiters. I’m still figuring out what else to tweak on my resume, so I’d love any insights or examples of what you all have done that’s been effective for landing interviews.
