When asked to design a job scheduler, I focused on key components like job prioritization, execution, and completion management. I proposed a distributed system where jobs would be managed in queues, with workers pulling jobs based on priority levels and resource availability.

I suggested using a combination of a relational database for job metadata and Redis for quick access to job statuses. However, as I was explaining the scaling challenges, I sensed the interviewer was looking for deeper insights into fault tolerance and handling edge cases.

I could've been more prepared for questions about concurrency and how to ensure reliability under heavy load.
